Make Waves Fest

This November, we'll be participating in Make Waves Fest, a two day celebration of Central Ohio punks and our progressive values.  I've been in the lab the past couple days working on a song for the Make Waves Compilation, coming out in a couple weeks.

It's been a long, slog of a year getting anything finished.  But this one came from two pretty swift sessions.

I recorded the main part, piano and kaos drums several month ago, and kind of harvested lyrics from a few songs that never made into a finished form but had great phrasing. I go in and out of a Micheal Stipe impression it seems. No shame in that.

Marvin The Robot was invited to the Studio Recordings Division of the 200 Columbus Artist Invitational Challenge.

Went on a shoot today

I went on a trip out to an abandoned amusement park today.  My buddy took me out there for my birthday.  I did get the chance to try out a new shoulder mount I got for my camera, and got some good video.

The Hair Farmer's Almanac

I started work on the most solo album in recent years.  I started like four or five songs before I even told Matt and Danielle.  It features some recent songs that have been needing a proper recording, like Arlington! Come Back To DC, and Ladies & Gentlemen, Dave Pirner.  It will also have several new songs.  I'm most proud of one called, One More Trip Around The Sun.

I'm not totally sure when it'll be done.  Taking my time and trying to get some really great guest stars.  I have shot a video for Parades Will Come already, so not too much longer.
